Years of commercial office fit-outs: floors of desks, screens, cable routing and acoustics, to a spec and a deadline. Now the same standards, applied to one room in your house.

The problem
Four things that hold a home office back
Furniture and fittings that fit neither the room nor the person
Mass-market desks come in fixed sizes; alcoves and box rooms don’t. Shelves go up where the brackets allow rather than where you need them, and the chair was bought on price. Your eyeline, your reach and your posture were never part of the decision.
Untreated room, bad cameras, incorrect lighting
You’re heard through a laptop mic in a room with bare walls and hard floors, lit from directly above. The reverberation makes you harder to follow on a long call, and the camera sits below your eyeline pointing upward.
Unreliable network on client calls
The router is two floors away, sharing a congested channel with every neighbour on the terrace. Nobody has ever measured what’s actually reaching the room, so the fix has been guesswork: a plug-in extender, or moving the laptop nearer the door.
No power or cable infrastructure
Extension leads daisy-chained across the floor, power bricks piled behind the desk, and every cable the length it came in the box. It’s not a tidiness problem. It’s an unplanned electrical layout in the room you work in, and it dictates where your desk can go.

Built to the room and to you
Worktops cut to the space, scribed in, with sit-stand legs underneath. Shelving and storage fitted where you actually want it. Monitor arms set to your eyeline, seating adjusted to your measurements, the same way it would be specified in a commercial fit-out.
Treated acoustics, proper camera, controlled lighting
Acoustic panelling sited where the room actually reverberates. A dedicated microphone and camera mounted at eye level, and key lighting positioned to light your face rather than the top of your head. Tested on a real call before I leave.
Surveyed network, not guesswork
Wi-Fi analysed properly to find where the signal actually fails, the router moved off congested channels, mesh nodes sited where they’ll do something, and a hardwired connection run to the desk where the layout allows. Tested under load before I leave.
Power and cabling designed into the room
Under-desk trays and raceways, surge-protected power mounted off the floor, and every cable cut to length, routed and labelled. Planned around where you actually want to sit, rather than dictated by where the nearest socket happens to be.
